The Wonder of Reading could express how important the library becomes to the students, but we’d prefer to let the children speak for themselves. Here are a few excerpts from the hundreds of letters we receive each year:
“I would like to thank you for our library. It is beautiful and we appreciate it. I use the library to look up things and study them. But most of all, I use it to check out books and read them. Wonder of Reading, you have been so good to us. We are most thankful of the favor. We will never let the library go to waste. We will always use it.” —Breanne Roche, 4th grader at Holmes Avenue Elementary School
“I’m a fifth grade student at Welby Way. I’ve been here for four long years and never have I seen such a beautiful library. I have been to two other schools, but their libraries have been very small. I love to read and believe me, this is a like a dream come true. You don’t know how much I appreciate this, I mean, wouldn’t you appreciate it if you got a library like this? If it weren’t for books, I might not even be here today. But since you volunteered and brought together a great organization, I am where I am today.” —Marie Ristak, 5th Grader at Welby Way Elementary School
“Thanks a pot of gold. You’ve changed our lives. It’s the coolest library in the world and the biggest. You donated so many things. The new books are so cool. The amphitheater is amazing. Thanks for the reading area. Your name is 'wonder' but you are a miracle.” —Lauren Green, 3rd Grader at Balboa Boulevard Magnet Elementary School
