News Flash!
2008-2009 Renewal Information Welcome back to the new school year!!
What information does The Wonder of Reading need? Please fax us an updated Volunteer Contact Information sheet (fax #: 866-621-1968). Be sure to include all information regarding the students with whom your volunteers are matched, including name, grade level, and teacher. For volunteers not returning, please cross off their names. Even if you have no returning volunteers, please fax the sheet with all the volunteers crossed off.
Why does The Wonder of Reading need this information? Having updated volunteer information for your school allows us to keep accurate records of the volunteers currently participating in the Reading Partner Program, send recognition items only to those volunteers still in the program, and to provide books to the students reading in the program. If we do not receive this information by the deadlines listed below, your volunteers will be removed from our database and they will not receive any recognition from The Wonder of Reading, nor will their students receive books at the end of the school year. For these reasons, it is imperitive that we have the most up-to-date information on file for your school.
Track Schools Due Date for Renewal Information: Friday, November 14, 2008
Traditional Schools Due Date for Renewal Information: Friday, December 5, 2008

Hosting a Regional Training If you have a few people at your school interested in becoming volunteer reading partners, yet there are no upcoming trainings in your area, this is an excellent opportunity to host a regional training at your school! You can work together with surrounding Wonder of Reading elementary schools to recruit the minimum of 30 volunteers to attend a training at your school. It's a great way to network with other volunteer coordinators in your area, as well as to maintain an active pool of reading partners. If you would like more information on how to schedule a regional training, please contact Eliza Karagezian, Program Coordinator at 323-634-7119 or ekaragezian@wonderofreading.org
